The Other Passage Of Lava

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 156

Following this flow of lava was tricky business. It streamed through a large and deep crevasse. A hundred yards above it, a broken and dirty passageway followed the path too. Many parts of the floor were missing, forcing Fred to pick his way carefully. Many times he had to skirt one wall, then another.

Soon the passage broadened out into a large cavern. Fred's path followed the curve of one wall, down to the floor. Here, the lava flowed for two hundred feet, then fell. A lavafall!

The hole itself was a thousand feet wide and the cavern doubly so. The sheer size of the place was staggering. And how was it being lit? For Fred could see all the details as if the sun was coming through clearly. Surely some powerful magic was at work here.

Fred follows the path down to the floor of the cavern. On the far side of the hole, away from the heat of the lava was a small, metallic ladder! It went straight down for as far as he could see. The entire pit was so deep, the sides appeared to come togther far below.

  1. Fred goes down the ladder.
  2. Fred finds a new exit and takes it.
  3. Fred leaves the way he came.
  4. Fred encounters an oddly dressed man who says, "I'm President Clinton. Where am I?"
  5. Draco Hostilis
