Synopsis of "Planet of Spiders", as told by Betty Ragan ;)

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 14687

Taking a deep breath, she began to tell him about the doings at the monastery...

"Okay, in the TV show Sarah Jane sent sent you....your TV counterpart the blue crystal she'd received as a wedding gift," Betty began, "Something to do with the fact that, if I remember correctly, that her native guides saw it as jinxed and wanted it away....and perhaps would make her ‘go away' from life if she refused. Yates meanwhile, had found that some fellow meditator initiates wanted to gain power and summoned a large spider with their minds. The spider joined forces with somebody who's name I forget, and both set off to steal the blue crystal because of it's special effects on the mind. It cleared the mind and made psionics more powerful among other things. In the show, that professor had seen the arrival of that evil spider and it literally scared him to death."

"Hmmm, and I actually saw something quiet different," the Doctor murmured, remembering the images of the Earth destruction brought about the Master at the VLA. How the only thing that would help prevent this was the aid of the "Twins of Doom." Turned out that Author Scott had only been tricking him...

"The blue crystal did get stolen for awhile, but a rather slow grounds keeper or some such stole it from the thieves because it was shiny." Betty continued, "It had something to due with him having an attraction to shiny things. Something like ravens like shiny baubles and trinkets just because they are shiny. There is a lot that happens, but I can't remember it all at this time. But bottom line is that while the spiders are defeated, and the human beings on the spider's planet get freed....."

Betty tells about the episode as clearly as she could. She told of the blue crystal with the weird psionic effects, the Tibetan monks, the giant spiders, the radioactive cave... the Doctor's regeneration...

The Doctor is looking over at Betty, a bit pale, but then shakes it off.

"Hmmm, mayhaps just crushing the crystal would save us some trouble," he muses, not sure if that was the right, "After we help that grounds keeper ‘or some such.' I have a few idea on how to at least set in motion the forging of freedom of the humans back on Metebelis Three..."

  1. That's about the time the Whomobile begins to land.....
