"Betty, you said that the person I should see is not Sarah Jane, the person I gave this blue crystal for a wedding gift, but Mike Yates," he begins.

"Hmm, and Sarah Jane had gone to see him about something up there," the Doctor continues, mostly to himself, "Then she...as well as Mike could very well be in dire straights right now!"

<P.The next few moments are chaotic as the Doctor rushes out to go rescue Sarah and the others. Protests and questions by the Brig are put off by the Doctor's usual reply to such with "I'll explain later." Benton, somewhat put off at the sudden change in things, nonetheless helps get's the Doctor's newest vehicle, a special car (looks more like a cross between a flying saucer and a hovercraft) is prepared. Bessie would have been nice, but this new vehicle is a bit faster.

The Doctor is just about ready to take off when he finds Betty climbing in to the seat next to him in the cockpit.

"My dear, what do you think you are doing?" the Doctor begins. "Don't you know that I'm probably going into a dangerous situation?"

Betty sighs and just looks at the Doctor in exasperation for a second.

"I'm coming along, because I'm not a ‘stay in the TARDIS' kind of companion," she says simply, "That and I do happen to know that the situation is dangerous. That's why you need me, because I know a few more things about this situation that could be of use. It'll not be perfect knowledge, but it might be enough to tip the odds in our favor, yes?"

The Doctor slowly nods, seeing the point. That was actually why he'd allowed her along in the first place, really.

"Very well, sounds like something good indeed," the Time Lord says as the craft lifts off.

He then continues by asking Betty to recall all she could about this situation from that TV show, and don't spare the details.

"After all, if by some chance that I....the TV counterpart should have gotten so injured, somehow, in this show that he regenerates....the same won't happen to me," the Doctor finishes.
