"I don't get it." Velus said. "Why is it only one of us can enter?
Wouldn't it be safer to go as a group?" "You would think so but no." said the old man. "What lies beyond this gate is a fey and deadly world, a place of beauty and savagery, undespoiled by human appetites. The laws of this world are quite different from ours, and will allow for no more than one intruder to enter safely." "Then I will go." Fred volunteered. Fred shrugged and flung himself into the portal that led to this 'other world', before the old man had time to get himself a Pepsi, too. After a dizzying vertigo head-trip rush, Fred found himself lying in a lovely garden terrace. A bright sun beat down overhead, and bees, butterflies and various faerie scum flitted between the flowers, of which there were thousands, of every conceivable species and color. A soothing, harmonious odor assailed our hero's nostrils. An old marble sundial beside Fred showed the time to be around noon, and also had arrows pointing in the direction of north and south. There was no sign of the gate he had come in through. Fred cursed - the old man had conveniently forgotten to explain how to get back. Well, nothing to do but find Sculliverda. Fred took stock of his meager possessions and decided to head...
