Zosh the Evil

"Well, that's very apparent," exclaimed Embron in irritation, gesturing at the darkness outside the window.

"I don't mean like that," Belboz replied. "It's the source of the spell. It's crafted so that any magical attempt to undo it will unleash chaos a hundred times worse. The Sundeath wasn't crafted by Zerrod the great - but by Zosh the Evil."

"Who?" asked Jastina.

Ecstasy gasped. "Not him!!"

"Wait a moment," Joan said. "Who is this 'Zosh the Evil'?"

"A man best forgotten," Ecstasy said, trembling.

Uxton scratched his blading head and sighed. "Zosh was Zerrod's brother, a powerful necromancer in his own right, who dabbled with forbidden powers and spells. Some say that he was eventually consumed by his quest for dark power, that he finally went too far and he became one with the evil he sought to posess. In any event, Zerrod was forced to fight him, and while Zosh's final fate is in doubt, we know Zerrod eventually defeated him"

"Zerrod sealed all of Zosh's spells," Belboz continued, "And banished them as well as he could."

Joan looked at him suspiciously. "Then why do you know about the origin of the Sundeath, then?"

Belboz replied:

1. "I've been researching them for the last twenty years - with the king and queen's blessing."
2. "Zerrod was an ancestor of mine, you see."
3. "I unbound the spells - and is so doing, paid a heavy price."
4. "I cannot say at this time."
