The Never Ending Quest - Episode 13924

BALTIMORE POLICE
DEPEARTMENT 1400

Corner of Fifth and Main....

"Well, well," Ragan murmurs, catching sight of Bernard Abbot's group, "We do seem to have come full circles indeed."

She recognized Bernard Abbot, and several of the others that had apparently come along to this get together. She also recognized Mary, the young Uzi totting woman that she'd met awhile ago (a few days ago by one clock.....or seven years ago by another) back when she and her friends were helping the Sneakers.

But she hadn't exactly expected to see some of the Sneakers again with Abbot, apparently working alongside with the NSA.

She remembered the group of people who's life mirrored from seven years ago....

Bishop-had only a passing resemblance to Redford. The same goes for all the "real" people that the actor's portrayed in the movie.

Crease-Poitier's character in the movie had worked for (and got fired from) the CIA instead of the FBI (what those letters stood for Nyssa hadn't thought to ask until now). Like his counterpart in the movie, he got frustrated from time to time whenever Mother came up with yet another crazy conspiracy theory.....

Mother-known also as Darren Roskow. Whether or not he got framed and spent eighteen months at Dannemora for breaking and entering and has the best hands in the business, he was still the gadgets wizard of the group. He was also the conspiracy theorist and paranoid of the group, just like in the movie.

Carl-was the young genius of the group, and made something of comedy relief at times both in the movie and in this situation since the angst of the teenage were funny to behold. Carl Arbogast, age nineteen, been caught by the Sneaker in the movie when he'd tried to break into his school to change his grades in the school's computer system. Again, he had only a small resemblance to the actor, River Phoenix, who'd portrayed him on the screen.

Whistler-played by David Strathairn, was the blind soundman of the group. Like his counterpart in the movie, his hearing was superb for detecting the slight variations in sound when trying to crack a security system. He was also more observant than most of the others in the group. As in the movie and "real life", Whistler had a history of problems with the phone company.... Oh yes, Irwin Emery, also known as "Whistler", had problems with the phone company..... sixty-two counts worth of problems!

Liz-was Bishop's former girlfriend who'd been drawn back into this "little boy's club" since she'd wanted to help Bishop when it had appeared that the government had found him....and was blackmailing him into doing a covert operation. Refined and almost regal at times, she was also very intelligent (brilliant) and techno savvy. She alone had known Bishop had been a fugitive even before it had come to light to the other Sneakers......

Not all of them (Whistler and Liz) were present, but Ragan had a feeling that they were about, somewhere. She briefly wondered what else has changed for them from then to now. She then shakes her head slightly, causing her red tresses to sway a little bit in the bitter wind that's picked up.

Be that as it may, she had a job to do.

"Mr. Abbot, I presume?" Ragan says, pulling out a small portable player, "I believe this is something you wanted to see. It's the video of the Hamersly murder....and if you look closely...."

The video starts and Abbot watches. He blinks when he recognizes somebody he'd just seen just a few hours earlier, and a special meeting within the NSA about some peculiarities with some misplaced surveying equipment.

  1. "But...that's Thomas Reynolds," Abbot says, stunned.
