the Unthinkable!

"Dammnnit!!!" yelled out King Embron. "What in blazes are we going to do now?!???" What indeed. Uxton, Joan, Ecstasy and the King and Queen looked at their feet dejectedly. Then the common-sensical court mage thought of another idea. "We can always sacrifice a virgin!"

The others gasped... But Uxton kept on, he was on a roll. "Aw come on! The WHOLE world is about to be obliterated...what's one virgin? We'll give her a real keen send-off and pay her parents a royal recompense. I may be only a ho-hum magic-user with just a fair-to-middling grasp of the magical arts, but logic is logic. Its a virgin or all of us."

The others stared at him as if he were crazy... Then the Queen spoke up. "You could stave off this disaster if you kill one virgin?"

The King gasped. Joan cried out: "My Queen, you can't seriously be contemplating the death of an innocent girl?!!!"

"It's her or us" she said. "I, for one, don't want to die!"

1. The others convince the Queen not to go ahead with the grissly plan.
2. The others are convinced by the Queen of the sense in the grissly plan.
3. They begin to implement the plan but can't find any virgins...go figure.
4. Before they can do anything the sun dies!
5. The light reappears and a beaten Belboz cries out at them: "He-l-p me for cry-ing out lo-ud!!!" And then the light blinks out.
