Truth be told, Miranda didn't really like any man—one of her many quirks—but she wanted to help the child, and she thought he might be a good fit for her sister. So what could it hurt?

The four of them sat together at dinner in the grand hall that night and then took a walk in the castle gardens.

  1. Jarlath and Julia got on fine, and agreed that another date sounded lovely. In addition, by the end of the night, Gregory was obviously enamored of Miranda.
  2. Jarlath and Julia decided that they enjoyed each other's company but maybe not in that way, but also that they both very much supported the pairing of Miranda and Gregory.
  3. Everybody involved had a terrible time, and Jarlath was ready to take it out on his clueless brother-turned-noblewoman.
