Fred hears again the same voice that he had heard a little earlier. "I must admit that I hadn't allowed for the possibility of your choosing the floor covering. Still, I suppose I have to play by the rules I set myself, that your destiny should be shaped by what you chose to wear. You have made your choice, and now you are free to go. I hope you enjoy being a bear."

  1. Fred replies: "Why have you done this to me?"
  2. Fred attempts to speak, but only a growl comes out.
  3. Fred now has a bear's intelligence, and cannot understand what was said.
