The Doctor and his human companions complied, lying down with their faces
pressed against the floor. Dr. Edwards took a deep breath, then, holding a
handkerchief up to his nose, he raised the spray can out in front of him
and activated. Immediately, a heavy mist began to spray out of the device
in a high-pressure stream that carried all the way across the room.
Rapidly and methodically, Edwards swept the stream back and forth to cover
the entire room. Wherever the droplets settled on people, they immediately
fell down unconsious -- police officers and illegal patrons alike. After a
few moments, he lowered the can, uncovered his mouth and said casually,
"All right. You can get up now. Whatever hasn't been absorbed should be
inert by now." The other four got carefully to their feet, grateful that
none of the droplets had reached them on the floor. They looked around
them, and were impressed to realize that every single person in the room
was unconscious, except for themselves... ...and the android. "Don't worry," said the Doctor. "I'll soon take care of him." He pulled out the gadget with which he had neutralized the android before and switched it on.
