Hannah cries

As she starts to scrub the floor, Hannah's anger and Fred's despair become
too much for her little heart to bear, and she burst's into floods of
tears.
The tears stream down her face, and drop onto the floor, which at least helps with the cleaning. Muriel enters the cottage and, on seeing her daughters tears, picks her up in her arms and pulls her close to her impressive chest. "I'm sorry Hannah" Muriel said "I was only trying to make you see how hard life can be. It is a lesson you will need to learn to survive. Inside Fred was confused as he was pulled tight to the heaving bossom of their mother, but realised that it was indeed vital for Hannah to grow up strong. It was becoming worryingly clear to the trapped ex-knight that he might well be in this body for a long time!
