Within the Belly of the Cicatrice

He sat down on one of the chairs within the small cave-room and sighed. He knew how close that had been... He didn't want it to happen again. But he also knew that it was only a matter of time before the monster from the ShadowRealm would figure a way of getting in... even if by digging his way down by the handfuls!

Belboz pondered what he had just learned; he was honestly surprised that the Knight D'Honaire had chosen this path. ~~I wonder what the Black Powers offered him...~~ And yet, how natural that it would be so. Belboz had had many dealings with the previous generation of D'Honaires. He knew, as did all the Kingdom, that it was the Dragon who had bested the greatest knights of Allaria under the command of Fred's father; the most he was able to accomplish was seal the Cave's entryway... and that didn't last as long as the Kingdom had desired. Belboz also recalled that the Duke D'Honaire never had much luck at raising a family. Most of his sons had died before age seven, and his youngest disappeared five years ago. ~~That Family is haunted~~

And now it has only gotten worse.
