The Never Ending Quest - Episode 12226

After the Redshirt shouts in surprise at seeing how small the TARDIS is on the outside (but so large inside).......

A bit latter, after it's discovered that somehow the Master's TARDIS (disguised as a shrub) has been transported to the "other" universe, while Stacy's Doctor's TARDIS is in Inquirer's Doctor's universe (tongue twister!). Acting as a bridge between both universes, to the consternation of all, is that the "other" Master's TARDIS (disguised as a rack of electronic gear). With some of the internal architecture somehow scrambled by the process (now having transformed the "interior" into the "exterior" of the equipment rack TARDIS), one could enter the "other" Master's TARDIS that is in Inquirer's Doctor's TARDIS. Then, they could go through the door that would....should lead further into the interrior....actually exited into the inside of the "shrub" TARDIS. Going out the shrub TARDIS' door would exit into this other universe. Reversing the course would return the traveler to their original universe.

At this moment in time, there is a meeting taking place on the Logopolis side of this strange bridge. The "others" are attending this meeting....in person!

Kirk and the other's of a more "normal" intelligence look like their getting headaches from all this stuff.

"We're not even at the point where this stuff starts making my head hurt," Betty-1 says to the other Bettys.

Ragan and Betty nod in sympathy, but are at least more used to meeting mirror versions of themselves (having more experience).

Spock and the other members of the Enterprise also express surprise at the nature of the TARDIS, it's extra-dimensional nature, but Spock then adds that such constructions had been proposed......

"......but no actual examples of such extra-dimensional constructs," Spock finishes. "They.....this type of construct is also, in theory, can also traverse time....relocate itself in almost any point in the universe....any time. Most fascinating, and much more.....eloquent than.....the act of hurling a starship around a star."

"Now that's high praise indeed," the Doctors say, remembering how the Spocks of Star Trek were. An excellent show of skill is said to be "adequate" (as we saw when Sarek complimented McCoy's medical skills after saving him). For something to be "eloquent".....is high praise!

"But now the problem, alas, is this bridge will destabilize within thirty minutes," the Monitor sighs after having a long discussion with the Doctors, Spock, and Montgomery Scott (who brought down copies of sensor logs and such from the Enterprise). From it they'd made that determination, and also discovered the reason just why the Enterprise didn't destroy herself .

Inquirer and Elrondir, familiar with the ins and outs of jumping between universes, had been the first to spot the small, but fatal mistake within Spock's equations to return to his home universe. It had been a similar folly of mathematician back Home. Early failures had killed the first extra-dimensional hops back in the late 1990's back in Inquirer's and Elrondir's version of Area 51, but it had provided the means of "marking" the home and target....making returns possible.

Which was of no help for this version of the "original" Enterprise and her crew. No "markings" had been made when she'd accidentally arrived in the Babylon 5 universe. In other words, no returning home for the Enterprise NCC 1701.

"But we do have need of you back in my Federation," B'ellana put in, looking up at Scotty, "My hat's off to you, sir. I didn't think that you'd put enough credit into transwarp drive.... I didn't think that it was possible to make with a Constellation class starship warp core.....but......"

"Uh, it wasn't me who created it, lassie," Scotty admitted a bit sheepishly, "It 'twas Lt. Uhura."

Several people blink at that one, then decide that there isn't much time for questions.

"Oh, but before we let you go," Sigin says, remembering the tales "his" Betty and Ragan told about themselves. "Let me take care of you're morphogenic field....er....Betty 2! I'm just sorry that we don't have enough time to take care of Stacy's memory problem!"

Stacy's Doctor glances at her, surprised.

"You have amnesia?" he asks, only to stop and look over at Sigin in puzzlement as he begins to chant and make....mystical gestures?

Betty-1's group (as well as the Monitor and the Star Fleeters) look at each other like Sigin had lost his mind...only to look at each other again in confusion when Betty 2 morphs back into an exact copy of Betty-1

"This equation will explain what that was," Inquirer's Doctor says to his twin, scribbling down Dr. Vincent's Magic/Science Unified Theory Equation, "It's from a fascinating and brilliant....but eccentric mage/scientist, Dr. Vincent. Now go!"

Not wanting to stay behind (though they'd like to ask just what $^$& that is about) and risk having Logopolis destroyed when the bridge finally destabilizes, the "others" rush off to the Police Box side of the bridge. After making adjustments to his TARDIS "suggested" by the Monitor, the "other" Doctor's TARDIS frees itself from the bridge....and harmlessly destroys both Masters' TARDISes in the process.

Kirk and the others watch in silence as the "other" TARDIS fades and grinds out of view (on it's way back to it's oringinal universe).

  1. Follow the Champion's storyline?
  2. Follow the "other" TARDIS back to the VLBA of Betty-1's universe?
