The elderly man is backhanded over a sofa. Fortunately there were soft
leather chairs on the other side but something must have happened as he
did not rise again. Stacy and Manna back away from the approaching
mean. Suddenly, several of them fall over. The receptonist had flung a metal chair at them. The two women leap over the fallen, broken, moaning bodies and follow the receptonist towards a newly opened door that leads to a room filled with television monitors. It must have been a disguised secondary entrance for security; fat lot of good that did... One of the men who had been knocked down rises, his left arm skewed at an impossible angle. He fires and the receptonist spins away and bounces off the wall next to the door. Pure momentum carries Stacy pass. The receptonist groans in pain as blood blooms on his lower right side; then the door shuts...Stacy sees Manna had shut the door and was now locking it. "The receptonist!" Stacy pants. "No! We can't go back, they'll shoot us too!" One of the monitors shows the unwounded men gathering around the door they had just been through. Unfortunately the angle did not show the receptonist. "Come on!" Manna says, standing at a door on the far side of the room. "We have to get out of here!" Stacy pauses. "They obviously spent more money on security then on security personell! We're probably safest here! Let's call the cops." Manna put a paw to her head. "For all we know, those WERE the cops! Besides, it's too odd they spent so much on this security room and not enough on a guy to help us!" "Maybe we caught them on a shift change! Maybe the bosses are stupid just like half the bosses in the entire friggin' world!"
