The Never Ending Quest - Episode 119385

When poor Gigi first found her vision beginning to go cloudy, she couldn't do anything to let Regon know, so she just tried to ignore it and hoped it would resolve itself. But of course it didn't, and she began to have more and more collisions and other accidents. By the time Regon finally asked her, "Gigi, has your sight worsened recently?" and she nodded, she was practically night blind.

Now Regon was very talented and powerful, but healing magic was its own beast, and he had barely dabbled in it. He could close up superficial cuts but that was about it - he certainly couldn't do anything against degenerative disease.

Over the course of almost two years, Gigi lost her sight almost entirely. She whimpered frequently, and sometimes Regon didn't even stop her - which was nice, because there were times she couldn't anyway, basically anytime he was asleep or focused on anything. Slowly, he stopped giving her tasks to fulfill, but he kept taking care of her, something she had feared he might not do, and was grateful for.

  1. The day came when Gigi couldn't see anything at all. Weeks passed, then months, and she realized that Regon seemed to intend to keep her as a dog indefinitely.
  2. One day, when she mostly could just see light and dark but still had some ability to navigate on her own, Regon told her, abruptly, that he was going to turn her into a human again.
