Astra frowned. "With our mission here still far from completed? It must be something very serious. Did my mother's message say what the reason was?"

"No, Milady."

"Well whatever the reason, we must do as we are ordered, of course. Ask our sorceresses to send a reply that we will make all haste, and to expect us in four days time. I don't think we can cover the distance any faster than that. Oh, and also send a message to King Embron, with our apologies that we are having to abort our mission."

"Yes, Milady."

As Fynia hurried off, Astra turned back to Fred. "I think you had better accompany us back to Themyscira - that's the name of our capital city - assuming that you are willing. As we have already seen, it's not safe for you here on your own in this lawless region, and I don't know of anyone in whose care we could safely leave you. I'm afraid it means that there won't be any opportunity to try to trace this necromancer for the foreseeable future, though. So, are you willing to go with us?"
