The Never Ending Quest - Episode 118778

Though most of the palace staff still had no idea, these had been informed that Gerkka was a transformed human, and that it was vital she be recovered unharmed, even if that meant letting To'og go. However, the hunter mages had gotten the sense that bringing back both of them would yield an even greater reward! There were three of them, all appearing as spry middle-aged men, though they were each at least twice as old as they looked. They were hoping to be able to enchant Gerkka to follow them; unfortunately a transmutation would be very ill-advised, considering the ogress was pregnant. To'og, though, could be transformed as needed, if they could just figure out which one he was.

By using minor magic to mask their scents, they were able to stalk near the colony for some hours, observing, without being noticed.

  1. Unfortunately, they had failed to account for Gerkka's heightened senses, and just as the spell was beginning to wear off, she noticed them.
  2. At length they decided collectively to wait until Gerkka gave birth to attempt to bring her back.
  3. At last they began, by enchanting Gerkka to get up and leave. They hoped To'og would follow her, and they could identify him that way.
  4. At last they began, by luring some of the strongest ogres away with a perceived threat. They hoped To'og, whom they had already identified by information Arahim had given, would be among them.
  5. at last they began, by casting a spell of intelligence on Gerkka. They hoped that, if they could reason with her, they could convince her to return.
