"So here is your choice: cooperate as yourself, or become someone else - who will cooperate because she will know nothing else." The unfortunate lass listened in horror. She... she didn't feel any different. Desperately she began to recite to herself her basic information, except... except one thing was already missing. Try as she might, she couldn't come up with it. Mostly to herself, she whispered in horror, "What's my name?" Belboz smiled. "It's Annabella, of course." Her entire understanding of the situation shifted from nearly hopeless to completely so. It seemed at once to her that she had to remember the knight she'd once been. She simply had to. So she tried to please him. She started doing chores around the house, making sure things stayed tidy, but it wasn't something she had ever really had to do before, and she found the work tedious and difficult, especially in this tiny, frail body. So soon she transitioned to sitting with him and reading history books aloud to him - epic tales of historic battles she had once looked to for inspiration. He really didn't seem picky, as long as she was near at hand. The difficult parts were when he tried to kiss her. She resisted the first few times. She simply couldn't bring herself to let this happen. But one day, when she realized the face of her best friend in childhood had been reduced to a blur in her mind, she had to put these reservations aside. She was ever on the lookout for weaponry to practice her knightly skills, but Belboz seemed to have none - else he kept it well hidden. Eventually she was going stir crazy, staying inside the whole time, so she said to him, "You once mentioned something about going riding with you?" They set out on a pair of beautiful white mares, and Annabella hadn't felt so free in a long time - but it was also odd, being outside in this form for the first time. The world wouldn't recognize her.
