From the last remark of Bob's it sounded as though maybe he did care for
her
after all. She wondered if Mandy's suggestion had been genuine, or
whether she had had an ulterior motive. She rather suspected the latter.
It wouldn't be the first time that a pretty young girl had twisted an
older man (Bob looked to be in his thirties) round her little finger. For
one thing, how had she (Stacy) been supposed to find out what they were up
to,
given that they had selected an out of the way storage room? She would bet
that
had been Mandy's choice. Perhaps she was starting to feel a little
bit jealous, after all!
She decided to go back. She couldn't leave things like they were. Just before she re-entered the room, she heard Mandy:
