Cinnamon closed her eyes as she pressed her lips to his, and something made her keep them there longer than usual. When at last she pulled away, she looked up at him, and he looked down at her, and... and... He really was perfect, wasn't he? Handsome, and talented, and utterly devoted to her. She loved his boundless confidence and the slight scruff on his chin and the way he touched his nose in his rare moments of nervousness. She would be delighted to spend the rest of her life with him. It was no knighthood, but there was still something noble to be found in a life raising a family with such a wonderful man.

Everything was different after that day. Where before, she had spent her days in boredom, now...

  2. she worked diligently at her craft, hoping to be able to supplement their funds by starting a business selling things she made, like blankets and shawls.
