The mage's name was Fiyono, and he was an intelligent middle-aged man with a dark brown beard. He and Nate dressed sensibly for the venture, and brought plenty of equipment along to attempt to reverse the transmutation, but upon their arrival on the island, it quickly became clear that it would be tremendously difficult to determine which of these parrots was the one they sought.
