Belboz had magicked so many people, and known so many other wizards who had magicked so many people, that it wasn't a readily made connection. But in any case, he was essentially undoing his own enchantment, so it did come easily to him. First he waved his hand, and Lila the toad suddenly became Lila the human. A second wave clothed her generously in a lovely dress. Lila swayed in disorientation, her mind still totally switched off by Ginnie's song. Belboz observed her, and asked, "Before I do this, can you try to speak? Just humor me." As he'd suspected she would, she only blinked blankly at him, and he sighed and conjured up a luxurious chair, which he eased her down into. "Let me know when you can think again," he told her—rather pointlessly, he knew, for she would surely have little memory of what was happening, but ah well. He busied himself with other projects in his workshop as she sat there blankly for a very long time, upwards of an hour. He glanced over at her several times—she was quite a fetching woman, after all, and appeared very close to his age. Finally, she began to look around foggily, noticing that she was in an unfamiliar location. Belboz noticed quickly and approached, saying, "Being in that form really does a number, doesn't it? Either that or Ginevra did something else to your mind. Not really my business. So, can you try to speak for me?" Lila was staring at him, still foggy, and through that fog nothing but alarmed at seeing his face. Finally the details of who he was came back to her—he was the reason all this had happened! The reason she could never return to her old life! She began to hyperventilate. "Really?" Belboz muttered, and waved a hand. Instantly she was calm, having quite forgotten why she'd been panicking in the first place. "One more time," said Belboz. "Open your mouth. Try to speak. Can you tell me your name?" Lila opened her mouth. Nothing came out. "Not a peep," he said. "Very well, good to confirm. You know, stunningly beautiful, and voiceless to boot? Minus the 'default form is a toad' thing, you really are a perfect woman [104461]." The words were complimentary, but Lila knew there was something off. She was having trouble thinking at the moment, and only gave a small, uncertain smile. Belboz straightened up.
