Examining One of the Coins

All three coins appeared to be made of silver. Fred picked up one, and held it closer to his light. He could immediately see that it was not an Allarian coin. On one side was an engraving of a woman's head. He did not recognise her, but then it was highly unlikely that he would. Perhaps she was the ruler of whichever country the coin was minted in. Or maybe she was a goddess that the people of that land worshipped, he thought. There were no words at all on that side.

On the reverse was the value, a large "5" inscribed in the centre. It did not say five what; presumably it was assumed that everyone would know.

  1. There was no further information, not even the name of the country. The mint clearly favoured a minimalist design.
  2. Underneath the "5" was the country's name: "Aqualaria."
  3. Underneath the "5" was what must be the country's name, he assumed, but it was not a land that he had ever heard of.

  5. Now that he had picked the coin up, it had started to glow, which rather alarmed him. Was it magical in some way?
