Peltar spent some time trying to decide how he would acquire the false Lilith - would he be able to make a girl look and think like her? Probably not, only the very oldest masters of the arcane could work such wonders. The "cheapest" solution would be to find a girl willing to masquerade as royalty - likely not very difficult, really - and tell Jasper that her looks had been altered in the transmutation. Or, perhaps, the best solution lay somewhere in the middle. However, we, the readers, care little for precisely how Peltar went about saving his own neck. Of course, what we really want to know is... what did he do with the real Lilith? What became of Fred? He handed off the sculpture to his young assistant, Aurelia, ordering her to get rid of it however she saw fit such that it would not be found nor linked to him. Aurelia was rather inexperienced in the practice, but magic would likely not be necessary for this task. She first removed the clothes, of course, as the replacement Peltar acquired would have to wear them. And after some musing, she came to a decision on how best to do away with the evidence.
