Despite carefully aimed sword strikes, cunning lockpicking attempts using small sticks, and various straining assays to force Astra's hands through the shackles, Fred has found no way to free her as yet.

Astra finds it impossible to hide her disappointment. She is close to tears, which is fair enough. It's a terrible situation.

"There must surely be a key somewhere," Fred tells her. "I just need to find it."

1. They key is on one of the corpses of the fallen, or else inside the belly of the Cave Worm
2. There is no key, magic is only the solution
3. "Tear the chains from the wall," Astra suggests.
