The woman crouched down and covered Fred with her cloak. "It's all right," she said soothingly. "Be calm."

All at once, Fred was. The situation was alarming and uncertain but she had no reason to believe she was in danger, after all. And she was human again. She settled down, her newly human heart resuming a normal cadence. With the woman's help, she managed to sit up. Her mouth attempted to form words, but it was difficult.

The woman went on to say, "I am Marcelina.

  1. I'm going to get you the help you need, Fred."
  2. I'm going to return you to your father, Hannah."
  3. My father has bided his time for many years, but now he needs you in your human form once more."
  4. Stand up, and come with me. We need to move you to your new home."
  5. Stay quiet; we must make haste to get off my father's property."
  6. I've just noticed the magic of this basin; I haven't been walking this far into the garden for many years. How glad I am that I checked. Can you tell me your name?"
