"What?" she said, startled. "Yes, it is true, I have come to grant the wish you have been carrying in your heart of hearts for the last sixteen years. You will owe me a boon, of course, but you will be back home. I no longer compel you to have to remain here either, obviously. So, what do you say?" Hannah stared at him, unable to find words. "I know, it's a lot, and very sudden. But I should make something clear--this is your only chance. It's not as if I'll be coming back every few weeks to see if you've changed your mind. Say yes, and we'll be off. Say no, and I'll be off. In either case, never to return. What'll it be?" "I..." Hannah's throat closed. "May I have some time to think it over?" "Sure. Half an hour. That's plenty of time to say goodbye. I'll be here. Go on, off you pop." Hannah ran through the trees, trying to suppress her tears. She knew that Tihena had torn her from her true home, but now this island was her true home. How was she to decide between them? She remembered so little of life as Fred... and yet she knew that he had been doing important work, far more important than anything she'd ever done on this island. But which was more valuable, the quest or her happiness?
