Magically Passing for Something Else

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 116678

There were several reasons for this. Compared to what Belboz was capable of, Adrian's detection spell was fairly low-level. Also, the spells on Fred had changed him so profoundly and been in place for so long that they'd settled in as who she was, rather than just something affecting her. Therefore, unless further investigation was done, she would appear as just an ordinary little girl.

Muriel, being the subject of Adrian's quest and the only one showing signs of being influenced, was of course the primary object of concern. So not long afterwards, Adrian got the High Council of Sorcerers of Allaria involved, and they treated Muriel, removing Belboz's influence from her. Belboz, of course, was arrested for misuse of his magic, and Hannah, tearfully, removed from his care. She didn't know what was going on and didn't understand why her perfect family was suddenly fracturing apart. The high council members who handled her felt very guilty, naturally, but they were just doing their jobs.

As Muriel was treated for her abuse and received counseling, the question arose of what would happen to her--well, to Belboz's daughter.

  1. Muriel regretfully expressed that she could have nothing to do with Belboz or his family, and Hannah was left parentless.
  2. Muriel was willing to raise Hannah on her own, as the girl had had nothing to do with Belboz's actions.
