This man was a wizard named Adrian who had been tasked by Muriel's village to investigate her sudden disappearance. He'd been at it for a few years now and his search had led him to Belboz's mountain home. When the object of his quest opened the door, he all but stared with mouth agape. She seemed fine! But he suspected there was some trickery afoot, based on what the village had told him. He said hesitantly, "Good day, ma'am. I am the wizard... uh, Kurion, and I find myself a bit lost. Might I trouble you for directions, and perhaps a place to rest for a little while?" Muriel invited him in, and Adrian met her young daughter, Hannah. Due to the lack of resemblance as well as the timeline, he surmised the girl was not Muriel's biologically. Regardless, they both seemed very happy, and spoke very highly of their father/husband, Belboz. Adrian had heard of Belboz. He was a nasty piece of work, and now the young wizard was concerned for both these maidens. While they were not paying attention, he cast a simple spell to detect magical influences upon them.
