my memories from it, so presumably you could do the same with the data
that it collected."
"The data, yes, but what about the preserved samples that would be held in
sealed
containers: soil, atmosphere, plants and so forth. Perhaps more important
still, a ship capable of interstellar
travel is a very expensive item, and we can't just leave it on your planet
without
making an effort to retrieve it. Unfortunately it is not possible for us
to start the engines
and pilot it remotely, so we need to send someone down to it.
"Now, Stacy, since you are human you obviously have a far better chance than we do of getting aboard without causing the alarm to be raised. We would welcome your ideas on how you might most readily do so, since you will know your own species better than we do. Once you have managed to get on board, you must close and lock the door behind you to prevent anyone else gaining entry. Then:
