Physical prowess, know-how, and some healthy humility were all essential to make it to the dragon, in a way that politeness was not. If they had to, they, as Fred, could just avoid civilization entirely for the remainder of the quest. Marigold was not pleased to hear it at all, and who would be, but she compliantly raised her head to the captain and said, "I will marry you."

"Excellent!" cried the captain, clearly pleased. "We will have a proper pirate's wedding tomorrow. For now, you can all go down to the brig to join your sister."

They were relieved to be reunited with Katrina even after the brief separation. They explained the dire situation to her, and she said, "No, we cannot submit to that deal! We must fight for our freedom!"

"I don't think that's a viable option right now," said Isabella. "But perhaps we could try to delay the ceremony?"

They were considering their options, few though they were, when one of the cabin boys, whom they had heard someone call Pierre, appeared.

  3. he said "be ready at midnight and I will get you out and have a rowboat ready"
  4. he said "I dabble in magic and i sense that you are all under a spell"
