Freda would be spending a lot of time with the sisters, as a personal maid for both of them. When Richardyne got married and moved in with Quentin in a few months, she would solely serve Rosamunda. She very very slowly began to learn the ropes, and the sisters quickly learned they had to be patient with her, which they were willing to do. She certainly was no fashion consultant and she couldn't be trusted to remember anything too complicated or carry anything too heavy, but she did her best and they were willing to work with that. After the first two weeks, Freda felt safe asking, "Could you help me? I have two friends who were turned into st - into - into rock, a long time ago." "What?" The sisters were shocked and didn't know how to respond to this. "Their names are Gabriel and Mara" - two of the only four names she could clearly recall, apart from her own (the other two being Belboz and Vycynth) - "and they... he... I don't remember, but they were tricked, and I have to find help, to save them!" Rosamunda was moved to pity, but Richardyne took her aside and whispered, "Years ago? And she doesn't remember exactly what happened? Rosie, it's unlikely this happened at all. You've seen how Freda is. She probably made it up." Rosamunda nodded in understanding, and they turned back to Freda. "We've lost loved ones too," said Richardyne sympathetically. "Our brother Ricardo was a brave knight who went missing about six years ago. We miss him very much and we are sorry to hear of your loss." Freda, of course, lacked both the ability to extrapolate the connection and the tact to respond appropriately, and insisted, "But they're not dead! They're stone. You must save them!" "We're only young girls, Freda," said Richardyne. "What could we do? But I am truly sorry."
