Belboz, as you may have guessed at this point, did not shy away from unsavory dealings, and he had gotten on the Council's radar in a bad way. They overwhelmed him and placed magical handcuffs on him to keep him from casting any spells or escaping as they searched his home. Maerwynn, Gairovald, Rick, and Freda were the only living things in the tunnels, and they held them aside too as they sorted through all his documents and illegal items. Maerwynn was crying and Gairovald was trying not to, and Freda just kept asking what was going on. Rick, per the many orders that had been placed on him, was silent. While in Belboz's presence, he could not speak unless Belboz spoke to him first. And in fact, at no time at all was he allowed to say anything negative of his master.
