"Sea?" asked Arion, puzzled. "Water. An enormously vast body of water." Arion bit his lip. It sounded like it was too far to fly. Doran stood up to retrieve a map, and pointed out the locations of the two kingdoms relative to where they were now. Blueleaf, as it turned out, was on a large island a hundred miles southwest of the mainland. Aqualaria and Allaria were both landlocked, and directly between them and the ocean were two other countries. They had quite the long voyage ahead of them. Staring at the map, Arion murmured, "How did I ever get from Aqualaria to Blueleaf...?" But Doran had gone back to Frita's wing, and was too immersed in his work to acknowledge the question. Perhaps it was for the best. Arion knew he didn't have answers anyway. During the next break Doran took, Arion gestured towards the large map, which he now stood upon, and asked, "What do you recommend?" Doran pointed to two places along the coast. "There are ports at these locations. You're tiny enough that it should be easy to stow away on a boat from here to there. Then you have the kingdoms of Ledista and Malboncton to pass through, and from there both Allaria and Aqualaria will be at your fingertips." Arion looked. The first port in this hypothetical journey was a two-week journey from their current location, and that's if they made good time. He sighed. "It's such a long way." "It's no walk in the park," Doran agreed, "but if you really want it, you can make it." Arion sat down and absently flicked at a speck of dust on the paper. "I don't really. Frita does." "Speaking of Frita. I think I'm just about done. She'll wake in a matter of hours." Arion flew closer and alighted next to her. The long tear in her wing had been visibly sewn up. It was clumsy work, but it looked like it would be effective. As he watched, Doran slid a tiny but firm covering over the healing wing. "Unfortunately I can't recommend she flies at all for the next couple days or she'll pull the stitches and the damage may be irreversible," he said. "You're welcome to stay here while she recovers." Arion nodded. "We are tremendously grateful for your kindness." Presently Doran left them, and as he'd said, a few hours later Frita began to stir. After she woke up Arion explained the situation to her, and said, "We could leave now, and I could spend the next few days carrying you, or we can stay here for that time."
