"Really?" gasped Arion, unable to contain his relief. Doran nodded, smiling. "Nothing to it. There will be a visible scar, but she'll be able to fly just like before. I'm going to give her something to help with the pain and make sure she stays asleep, though, if that's all right." Arion didn't quite understand what he meant, but he nodded, and Doran got to work. It was a very delicate procedure, apparently requiring a lot of concentration, but also there were several points when he had to stop and wait for a few minutes. He explained why, but Arion didn't really understand. During the first such break, Doran asked, "So, what brings you to our humble village?" Arion rubbed his head. "Well, it's a bit of a long story, but... I have this memory of living in or near this human country, a long time ago, and Frita remembers living in a different human country. I don't understand it, but Frita, for whatever reason, wants to find these places." "What are the countries called?" "Allaria and Aqualaria," Arion replied. "Those are some of the most important kingdoms in the land, my friend," said Doran. "Quite large." "Do you know where they are?" "Of course. They share a border, which is fortunate for you.
