Once the jars were open, Nadia considered which to waken first. As she did, she suddenly heard the door open. She froze, and listened, but it sounded like the man had just propped the door open and left. She'd seen enough human activity to form the hypothesis now that he was about to retrieve something large in here. There was a chance they'd be spotted. But there was no time! She had to act fast. Seeing that the female's wing was torn, she knew that the male would be much less of a dead weight in the event of a quick escape, so she flew inside his jar. He was strikingly handsome, and she tried not to notice as she placed her hand against his forehead, feeling around his mind, trying to pull him out of his slumber. It took many minutes of deep concentration, but finally she felt a spark of consciousness within his mind, and suddenly the glow around him vanished, and he began to fall. She caught him under the arms, and turned a deep red at being so close to him, but she simply lowered him to the floor and gave him some space. He was barely moving, apparently climbing exceedingly slowly to consciousness. She was just beginning to wonder if she might have time to revive the female as well when she heard the man's footsteps drawing near. In a sudden panic, feeling out of options, she grabbed him under the arms, using her wand to lighten him a bit - she noted that his wand was nowhere to be seen, probably taken by that man - and flew as fast as she could out through the cracked door. The man saw them. Of course he did. Her wings pumped as hard as they could to dodge him as he swiped at them, and she just barely managed to make it out the window and into the misty air. The fairy she was carrying seemed completely unaware of what was happening. He was mumbling softly underneath her, and she kept saying encouraging things like "Hang in there" and "It's okay, I've got you." He never acknowledged her words or made eye contact. She had to wonder how long he'd been asleep. She didn't travel too far, and detected no signs of pursuit. It wasn't long before she found a good spot to rest on a wide tree branch high off the ground, where she laid the fairy down. He still wasn't quite looking at her, but he managed to slur, "Free." She smiled. "Yes, you're free now. My name is Nadia. Can you tell me yours?" "Free," he mumbled again, and she doubted he'd heard her. It was still raining lightly, and it was dangerous to fly in the rain, but she felt it would be a good idea to find him some food, so she said, "Stay here." She departed and quickly located a berry bush. Removing a single berry, she sliced it in half with the sharp edge of her wand, and brought him one part, while she set the other aside for herself. But he seemed to need help eating, so she provided it. Night fell not long after. He still had said nothing but "Free," though he had progressed to eye contact. She waited until he was snoring softly before curling up next to him and sleeping herself. When she woke up in the morning, she found his arms around her. She blushed deeply and wriggled out of them, turning to watch his face. He was still fast asleep. After an hour he began to stir, and he spent another half hour stirring periodically before he finally opened his eyes and fixed them on her face. "Hello," she said softly, smiling. "Are you feeling better?" He stared at her for a long moment, and finally said,
