The Never Ending Quest - Episode 115719

They each waved their wands to disguise themselves as butterflies, Frita with blue wings and Arion with pale pink, to match their skin tones. It was an ideal disguise, as it was rare for a human to swat at a butterfly, so at least they should be safe in that regard, although butterflies still served as prey for other creatures. But their fairy magic did have defensive uses as well.

They made their way around the village, which seemed to have a population of about 300 humans, listening to their conversations. Frita had forgotten how intelligent humans were, and it was hard for two fairies to try to keep up with much of what they said [18254], so she couldn't say she was really learning much about humanity - it was all she could do just to be constantly listening for the names "Allaria" and "Aqualaria."

  1. After a few days, Frita's wing was torn while they tried to navigate a busy market.
  2. After several weeks, they finally heard mention of one of the places they were trying to find.
  3. Several months passed with no success. Frita had now been a fairy for about a year, and was beginning to find that she could not recall that human name she'd been trying to hold on to, nor why she'd wanted to find these places so badly.
