"What?" said Frita faintly amidst Celeste's chatter. "But... but I only just met him."

Celeste cocked her head and gestured towards the flower in her hair--a spritestar, the only type of flower tiny enough for fairies to accessorize with. Arion had given it to her last night. "But you accepted his spritestar."

Presently Frita came to learn that around these parts, such a gesture was tantamount to a betrothal. Less than a day as a fairy and she'd already accidentally gotten engaged!

She gathered up the food she'd intended to bring and carried it back to Arion, knowing she had to let him down easy.

  1. She explained that it was all a misunderstanding, and he looked heartbroken.
  2. But once she reached him, and he smiled at her, she couldn't find the heart to do it.
