"Well," Lee said, "unfortunately I don't have a radio to call for
assistance, nor do I have my gun.
I couldn't bring anything on this mission that might alert the cultists to
who they
were dealing with - though my getting drugged and nearly being sacrificed
wasn't part
of the plan, of course. I thought they'd accepted me as another cultist,
but obviously
they saw me as a suitable victim instead. If we both wait here till they
give up looking for
us, then we'll be safe,
but I'll never be able to track them down again. They are bound to go to
ground once
they are sure I've escaped. They don't know I'm an FBI agent, but they'll
assume I'll
go to the police.
"If we go out there now to try to trail them, we may find them, but equally they may find us, and I don't want to put a member of the public - albeit a very brave one - at risk. Perhaps it would be best if you stay here whilst I go after them on my one, though this white dress they put me in won't be ideal for lurking in shadows undetected. If I don't come back within an hour, say, then go to the police."
