It felt like the middle of July. How on earth had it been so cool in the house? He began panting almost immediately as he ran. He knew his body had been changed but... he had no stamina at all! And it was so hot...

He heard loud noises like mechanical roaring (car engines, unbeknownst to him) shortly before he succumbed to the heat and passed out.

He woke up hours later...

  1. in a hospital.
  2. in the drunk tank of the local police station.
  3. hidden in a ditch on the side of a road. The temperature had cooled considerably.
  4. in the back of a car.
