The car she had been riding in was empty. The door in front would not
open. The door in back led to another car with emergency lighting and a
Korean woman of about twenty five and a boy about ten.
Stacy told them of what happened and tried the next door. Nothing. It was
jammed to.
An hour passed.
Thank god Julia had had some cheese and cracker snacks in her purse and
her nephew, George, had bought a water bottle from the last stop.
George was asleep. Julia and Stacy had discussed things and had decided to
wait a couple more hours. If there had been no indication of rescuers,
they would venture out as far as they could and see what there was to see.

Rescuers showed up three minutes later.

Nobody showed up. They ventured out and got up to the street.

They could not find a way to the street but they did find three branching tunnels leading god only knows where.

They found there way to the street but discovered the earth quake had horribly devestated New York. The Chrysler Building was completely gone, along with dozens of other skyscrapers.

They made their way to the street by wriggling over tons of wreckage. But what they found above was something none of them had even imagined finding.

More wreckage falls. Everyone inside is crushed and they die. Oh, the horror.

One of the locked doors falls over, providing access into the next car. They find more allies.
