"What gave us away?" Astra asked, as she and Stacy walked down the shuttle's aisle towards the exit, with the cop - who had not only revealed his badge to them but also his gun - right behind them.
"You don't make a very convincing man, I'm afraid," the cop said. "The flight attendant who checked your tickets alerted the police." "I said that you should be the man," Astra told Stacy. "I don't think that it would have helped," the cop said. "I'm surprised that the people you stole your tickets from haven't yet reported them missing, as far as I know." In spite of their situation, Astra grinned. "They're probably still fast asleep. They're going to have terrible hangovers when they wake up. You'll find them in a sleeping pod back at the port. We didn't kill them, if that was what you were thinking." "I see. I'll arrange a search for them." "What will happen to us?" Stacy asked, as they walked down the gangway into the disembarkation area of Solidarity One. "You'll be put in separate cells, and then sent back to Tokyo on the next shuttle, which is due to leave in twelve hours time. You will then spend some more time in cells until a court appearance can be arranged." "But we have to speak to our friend Michiko," Astra protested. "It's urgent. She's on this space station, and we think she could be in danger." "Why would you think that?" With nothing to lose, Astra and Stacy tell him about what happened to them at Milliways and on the taxi journey.
