"Welcome on board the Boeing X50 space plane," said a voice. A flight attendant in a french-blue uniform stood at the front of the cabin smiling at the passengers. "We will now familiarize you with important safety features and emergency procedures..."
The voice continued to give the usual safety briefing while the flight attendant mimed and demonstrated like some sort of painted marionette. The plane was very similar to any passenger jet but the seating was very comfortable with white leather upholstery and generous leg room. She was sitting next to Astra who had a window seat. The safety briefing continued. "After a short flight, orbital boosters will engage after which there will be a short period of weightlessness before docking. Solidarity One employs an artificial micro-gravity environment. Please familiarize yourself with non-inertial rotational frames using the booklet supplied." Stacy settled in to her chair and smiled at Astra excitedly as the engines rumbled and the plane started to move. It took off like a regular passenger jet plane. It went higher and higher and as they went through the clouds the sky went from white to blue and then to black. Suddenly there was a roar as they went from jet propulsion to rocket power. Stacy gripped Astra's hand as they were pushed back into their seats from the sudden acceleration. "Nothing to worry about," said Stacy through gritted teeth. "It's just the ... orbital ... boosters." "Thanks," said Astra smiling gently and gently tapping Stacy's clenched fist with her free hand. "That's really set my mind at ease." The rockets stopped abruptly and Stacy could feel the weird sensation of falling and realized that they were weightless. She leaned over Astra to look out of the window at the blackness of space and the bright blue white arc of the Earth below. "Strange," said Stacy, "I can't see any stars." But Astra wasn't looking out of the window. Instead, as Stacy leaned over her, Astra intently studied her face. Astra kissed her gently on the lips, catching Stacy by surprise. Stacy pressed into the kiss, opening her mouth and letting Astra's tongue slide against hers. Stacy slid her hand into Astra's jacket and felt the smoothness of skin. She probed the firmness of Astra's stomach, the softness of her breast and hardness of her nipple. There was a shudder that took Stacy out of the moment with a jolt. She saw out of the window that they had already docked with Solidarity One. "Oh, we're here," said Astra, smiling. Stacy pulled her hand out from under Astra's jacket and settled back into her seat. She noticed a brown smear on her finger. "I hope that's chocolate," said a man's voice. She looked up and saw a grey haired man in a beige trenchcoat. He had wrinkled leathery skin but sparkling blue eyes. He pushed the trenchcoat aside to reveal a silver shield-shaped police badge on his belt. "I'm afraid," he said, "that I'm going to have to ask you both to come with me."
