Down, down, down Elise shrank. Her dress quickly became cavernous around her, and she sprouted purple butterfly wings from her back. She felt the spark of magic growing inside her, and she clutched at her chest, curling into a ball, trying to escape from it. But immediately the faeries were pulling her out into the light, throwing together a quick dress made of grass to cover her nakedness. She stared down at herself, shocked, her mind clearing only very slowly, and the faeries grasped her by the arms and threw her to the ground in front of the Queen. She stayed there, trembling, not daring to look up, just trying to recall where she was.

  1. Her mind was unchanged but she felt the overwhelming urge to do anything the Faerie Queen asked of her.
  2. Her mind was unchanged but she knew that if she displeased the Queen again, her punishment would be far more severe than this.
  3. She could not remember anything. All she knew was that she was a faerie and she existed to serve the Queen.
