Stacy followed the alien to a chamber that contained a great deal of
impressive-looking
computerised machinery, where several more alien technicians were waiting.
How much of
the equipment would be used in the restoration of her memories,
she could not tell. She was told to sit in a chair which, considering it
had been
designed for a non-human body, was surprisingly comfortable. A cap-like
device, with
wires leading out of it into one of the banks of machinery, was fitted
over her head.
"We will need to sedate you now," one of the aliens told her. "Whilst it would be possible to carry out the memory transfer whilst you were conscious, it would be a rather alarming experience. We can sedate you via the cap on your head, rather than having to use some crude chemical means. When you awaken, you should have all your memories back. Good luck, as I believe your people say." The alien pressed a button on the panel in front of him, and Stacy lost consciousness instantly. When she came round:
