"I—I don't—" Fred stepped back, dazed, looking around the room. "I can't—Charlie? What's... what's happening? Where..." He placed his hand against his forehead and sank to the bed.

Though Charlie still had no idea how the potion that was meant to return Susan's youth to her had brought about this effect, it was immediately clear to him that Susan's senility had transferred over to Fred. So he said,

  1. "I'm sorry, Fred, but you seem to be experiencing some... side effects from your time as an old woman."
  2. "Gramma Susan, you're confused again. Are you feeling all right?"
  3. "Why don't you go back to bed? I'll get you something to help you sleep."
