Street Encounter

At street level there was a buzz of street vendors and market stalls selling mini-chicken-on-a-stick, e-cigarettes, laser-bangles and various other fashion gadgets that made no sense to Stacy.

With all that was going on they didn't notice the pair of men watching them as they passed. The men hurried after them and then stood in their path.

"Hei piaoliang kembang," said one of the men. He looked Japanese and wore silvered shades, and a black leather jacket adorned with pop-culture badges.

"We don't speak Japanese," said Stacy.

"I think it's more a blend of Japanese and Cantonese," said Astra.

"Ahh, Ameri-kens," said the other man who had spiky hair dyed white and chewed gum.

"She is," said Astra, "but I'm actually Aqualarian."

"Want some gum?" said the man, offering Astra a stick of chewing gum.

Astra took it tentatively and looked at Stacy puzzled.

"You haven't come across chewing gum?" asked Stacy.

Astra shook her head. She's traveled to multiple exotic worlds but never come across chewing gum. This amazing woman never ceases to amaze me

"You're meant to chew it."

Astra tentatively put it in her mouth and then slowly smiled. "It's sweet!"

"How about something sweet for you," said the man in the shades. He reached around Stacy's waist and pulled her in.

Stacy pushed him away. "Beat it creep!"

The man wasn't deterred and he grabbed her again. This time she felt his hand squeeze her breast and she pushed him away more strongly.

"The chunky one has got great tits," he said laughing.

"Hey," said Astra chewing on her gum, "Can I just borrow your shades for a moment?"

"Oh, okay" said the man. This seemed to stop him in his tracks and he handed the shades to Astra, smiling. "You like them?"

"Not especially," said Astra, "I just don't want to break them when I punch your lights out."

The look of puzzlement on the man's face lasted only for the briefest of moments before Astra punched him in the face, swinging her body into it and hitting so hard it dislocated his jaw.

The other man grabbed Astra from behind, wrapping one arm around her neck and the other round her waist.

Astra tried to elbow him but she couldn't get any power behind it. Stacy swung her leg, kicking the man in the back of his knee. She followed it up with punch to his ribs. He let out a cry and used one of his arms to try to fend her off but she pushed in close and hit him again and again. There was a crack as she broke one of his ribs and his grip on Astra was loosened enough for her to escape. She whirled, kicking him in the groin and following up with a punch to the face which sent him sprawling.

Astra took Stacy's hand and they ran for it, not stopping until they had rounded a corner and were out of sight.

Astra was out of breath and smiling. "What a rush!"

"Wow! I can't believe I hit him so hard."

"You might not have any memory of it," said Astra, "but your body remembers. You're an highly trained fighter. I taught you everything I know."

"Then I've got everything to thank you for." Before she even knew what she was doing, Stacy had embraced Astra and kissed her on the lips. She smelled of lilac but tasted of mint. "Sorry," she said regaining her composure and pulling away.

"Don't be," said Astra, looking mildly amused. "Here I've got a present for you. She gently popped the frame tips of the silvered shades over Stacy's ears. "I think they'll go well with your outfit."

Stacy put her hands on her hips and struck a pose. Astra blew her a kiss.

"You know what really bothers me?" said Stacy.

Astra put her finger on her lips thoughtfully. "Is it that he groped you?"

"Actually no. It's that he called me the chunky one."

"Well you are a bit broader than me," said Astra winking.

Stacy playfully pushed her and laughed.

"Come on," said Astra, "We've got important stuff to do.

1. They had an amazing night on the town
2. Astra took Stacy to visit an old friend
