The Never Ending Quest - Episode 112818

Stacy had for some reason assumed that she was in her mid twenties, but now she realised that she must be in at least her mid thirties, or just conceivably her early thirties if she had had her child when she was very young. (Another unsettling thought came to her. Perhaps she had not one child but two, or even more.) It seemed that she hadn't let being a mother prevent her from having a very successful business career, she reflected.

A groan from the mugger indicated that he was coming round. When his eyes flickered open, Stacy waved the photos at him. "How did you come by these?"

With some difficulty, he focussed first on the photos and then on her. "Hey, you're her!" he realised. "It's a small world. You look younger in the photos, though. I was gonna to try to sell them to a celebrity website or magazine."

I'm a celebrity? Stacy thought. She supposed that, if she bought ISPs, then it wasn't really so surprising.

"But where did you get them?" she persisted.

  1. He gave her an address. Now she felt she was making some progress at last in finding out about her life. If it wasn't her own home, it must surely be that of a close family member.
  2. "I can't remember the address I stole them from. I was looking for jewelry but found the photos instead. But I remember where it was and could take you there, if you made it worth my while."
  3. "Can't remember." Neither Jacob waving a wad of cash in front of him nor threatening him helped. It seemed he was telling the truth, and really had forgotten, perhaps because of his evident heavy drugs use.
