She looked at them and was deep in thought when Jacob said "I didn't know you had a child. I've known you for three years and you've never mentioned it."

Neither did I thought Stacy but didn't want Jacob to know that. Not yet anyway. "I don't tell you everything you know," said Stacy. "I like to keep things strictly professional."

"Except for that time when you got drunk after the Allaria deal and snogged that bartender," said Jacob. "Or that time you wanted do a hostile takeover of Puerto Rico telecom because just to spite the spic bitch who ran it."

Stacy tried her best to conceal her surprise at that last one. It was certainly a hell of a ride just finding out about herself. "Maybe I had a good reason not to let anyone know." Stacy assumed there must have been a good reason but hoped to find out what that reason was.

She turned over the baby photo and saw some writing on the back. It was a date.

"This must be the date it was taken. 30th September 2002. Six years ago."

"Six? Stacy, what year do you think it is?"

"2008..."

"Professional my ass. You are such a comedian. That's 15 years ago. So you've got a 15 year old that you never told anyone about."

Stacy didn't say anything. Did she have a son or a daughter? Was he or she depending on Stacy to look after them? And Stacy didn't even know the way home. Or maybe the child was even alive. She didn't know.
