State of the Art

"Oh you're already up," she said in a cheery voice.

"And not a moment too soon it would seem," said Stacy. "What the hell are these?"

"Legs," said the nurse, looking bemused.

"But they're metal," said Stacy, demonstrating by rapping a knuckle on her smooth, shiny thigh making a dull clang.

"Yes! Aren't they wonderful. State of the art!"

"But I had perfectly good legs before," said Stacy

"Yes, but these are better," said the nurse as if talking to a child. "So much stronger, and more powerful. And they should last for a hundred years. More if you look after them carefully."

"But, but... but I liked my legs," said Stacy. "And it's not just my legs, is it?"

Just then, two men walked in, Jacob and another man she didn't recognize. They wore smart-casual, shirts with rolled up sleeves and loose ties and each carried a mug of coffee, like it was just another day at the office. But Stacy sat there totally naked, under the florescent lights her lower half shiny and hard, her upper half pink and soft

"Is there a problem?" said Jacob.

"She doesn't like them," said the nurse.

"She doesn't like them?" asked Jacob. "They look good to me. A good size and still firm. But we can upgrade them if she wants."

Stacy crossed her arms over her tits, covering her bare nipples. "No," she said, "the legs! I don't like the legs!"

"Really?" said Jacob?

"They're state of the art," said the other man, chipping in helpfully.

"You know I told her that," said the nurse, "but she didn't listen."

"Have you explained that they are stronger and more powerful?" said the man.

"Hello!" said Stacy, "I'm right here! I don't want metal legs! I want real legs like everybody else."

"Is it the color?" asked Jacob.

"You don't get it. Okay. But it isn't just the legs."

Everyone looked bemused, just staring at Stacy, but said nothing.

"This bit," she said, pointing at her groin area with one hand while her other arm stayed crossed in front of her breasts.

"Well," said Jacob, "Your intestines are all intact, if that's what you mean."

"Intestines. Okay... So you mean I eat and drink as normal and then..."

"Oh," said Jacob, "I see what you are worried about. Yes, you urinate and defacate as normal. There are cybernetic mechanisms that open ports as needed."

"Port? PORTS!" said Stacy. "I don't want ports!"

"You kind of always had ports," said Jacob.

"Don't we all?" said the nurse. Jacob and the nurse exchanged a nervous smile and chuckled.

"No!" said Stacy. "I had an anus. I had a vagina. I WANT AN ANUS AND A VAGINA!"
